<p>Full title: Up Helly Aa, festival which takes place in Lerwick in January every year. It is a tradition festival involving a series of marches and visitations, culminating in a torch-lit procession and the burning of a galley. Here the 'Guizer Jari' visits an inmate of the local hospital.</p>

<p>Sculpture comprising eight flattened glass tubes standing vertically on a rectangular slate base, each tube made of coloured glass encased in clear glass, from left to right black, black with a flat applied blue stripe, blue, black with a raised applied turquoise stripe, turquoise with a raised applied red stripe, turquoise, grey, black.</p> <p>Each tube held in position by a pair of rubber-coated metal rods that stand in holes drilled into the slate base. Assembly instructions in inventory and conservation files.</p>

Lived in Wales: Always except for working.</p> <p>Photo shoot: Home, Moylgrove, 30th September 2002</p> <p>Opera Singer, Dame Margaret Price has arguably one of the most beautiful lyric soprano voices to come out of Britain in the last fifty years. Born in Blackwood her first ambition was to become a biology teacher, but a scholarship to Trinity Music College left to her professional debut at Welsh National Opera in 1962 as Cherubino in Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro. She rapidly became a star of the operatic world, celebrated for the purity and tonal beauty of her voice, as well as her flawless technique. She was awarded a CBE in 1982, followed by the DBE in 1993.</p>

<p>Full title: Two Marines out of FOB Sharp talk to the child of a Taliban suspect. The intelligence sergeant asked the child if his father went by any aliases. The interpreter, a native Pashtun speaker who was raised in California, didn't translate and replied 'I think he just knows him as dad.' The child started crying and they let him go. The sergeant later claimed that the tears were manufactured.</p>
