Bu Piper yn arbrofi â ffurfiau a lliwiau mewn cyfansoddiadau haniaethol rhwng 1934 a 1938. Dangoswyd y llun hwn ym 1936 yn 'Axis', cylchgrawn ar gelfyddyd haniaethol yr oedd ei wraig, Myfanwy, yn olygydd arno ar y pryd. Yn yr un flwyddyn, dywedodd Piper ei fod yn gobeithio y deuai celfyddyd haniaethol yn 'eglur ac yn boblogaidd, heb fod yn uchelael o gwbl'. Ar ôl rhoi'r gorau i dynnu lluniau haniaethol a throi at dirluniau neo-ramantaidd, penderfynodd mai 'ymarferiadau' oedd y lluniau cynnar hynny.

GB. ENGLAND. Isle of Wight. Pop festival. Girls with the bouffant hairstyle popular at the time. It was a mainstream hairstyle in the mid-to-late 18th century in western Europe. It was thought to be created for Marie Antoinette, as she had relatively thin hair and wanted to create the illusion of having very full hair. 1969.
