GB. WALES. Aberfan, The Aberfan disaster was a catastrophic collapse of a colliery spoil in the Welsh village of Aberfan, on 21st October 1966, killing 116 children and 28 adults. It was caused by a build-up of water in the accumulated rock and shale, which suddenly started to slide downhill in the form of slurry. 1966.

The Palm Ridge Recreation Centre Deer Valley Arizona is the latest in facilities. Persons aged 55 and above pay $500 for a years program. Many members are over eighty years of age. The aerobics class, three times a week never has less than a hundred members. 1997.
